Reflection

Throughout the semester my creative process grew even up to the point I am writing this it was grown. The more tools we were introduced to the more tools I found that better worked for me. For example, white hat, red hat and SCAMPER are the tools I found work the best for me when coming up with ideations and I feel confident in using them. On the other hand some tools such as BUG list did not seem to work as well for me. After finding what tools worked and did not work for me really helped to complete my creative process. Another thing that has changed recently in my creative process is the amount of breaks I take and what I do during those breaks. Earlier in the semester when brainstorming I would just take a five to ten minute break and go on my phone, but after fully being able to understand how I work based on my HBDI and suggestions from my MMG I changed that. Now I not only take more breaks but I also fill those breaks with things to bring my brain back in to the spot it needs to be in. A big activity that helps me do this is playing guitar. Musical is my most descriptive trait, so going and playing the guitar during my breaks even if it is just for five minutes helps to kickstart my brain. Most of the time while i'm playing a new idea will pop into my head and i'll have to go write it down. I would even venture to say that my entire creative process revolves around playing the guitar. I have used my creative process not only while doing assignments in this class but during business meetings I will have with my partners. Using this process we have been able to identify recent problems and now are once again using the process to slowly build solutions.
